Adrian Massey is a Captain in the United States Army.  In the Army he
functions as a Signal Officer (laymen’s terms: IT Manager).  Adrian has been
on active duty for approximately 8 years.  He spent the first 3 years jumping out
of airplanes while stationed at Fort Bragg, NC and functioning as a Platoon
Leader (entry level manager of approx. 30 people).

He has spent a total of 27 months in various places throughout Iraq.  After his
first deployment he moved to Germany where his family has been living for
three years.  His most recent job was serving as a Company Commander.  He
was responsible for 114 Soldiers in combat with a mission to provide
communications for over 4,000 soldiers of the 2nd Stryker Calvary Regiment
throughout Baghdad.

CPT Adrian Massey says, “Company Command was the most rewarding job I
have ever had.  There has been no greater honor than to lead America’s
sharpest Soldiers in combat.   Not to mention managing a large scope of
communications from satellites, voice (phone), data (Internet), and radios”.
He is currently applying his combat experience at the Joint Multinational
Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany.  His job is to train Soldiers that are
preparing to deploy for Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo as well as working with
NATO forces.

He was also published by Robbie Dean Press out of Ann Arbor, MI.  The book is
a collection of poetry written while deployed to Iraq entitled, “A Soldier’s
Poetic Response: A Slice of His Life”.

CPT Adrian Massey is a Detroit native who received his commissioning as an
Officer from Eastern Michigan University ROTC program in 2002; where he
also graduated with a BS in History.  He is currently pursuing a MS in
